Adding Singapore and Taiwan region into Meta Ads

Meta requires a regulated-ads declaration for ads targeting Singapore or Taiwan, and that isn't supported here yet. Target other countries for now, or run this audience directly in Meta Ads Manager. ← Can we have Singapore and Taiwan included so we do not need to do it manually in Meta Ads manager.

    Update: We've shipped regionalRegulatedCategories on POST /v1/ads/create, POST /v1/ads/boost, and the messaging/CTWA endpoints.

    To target Singapore or Taiwan, include regionalRegulatedCategories in your request, for example:

    { "regionalRegulatedCategories": ["SINGAPORE_UNIVERSAL"] }

    Known values: SINGAPORE_UNIVERSAL, TAIWAN_UNIVERSAL, THAILAND_UNIVERSAL, AUSTRALIA_FINSERV, INDIA_FINSERV.

    Note: this is a separate field from specialAdCategories. regionalRegulatedCategories is the country-level regulatory declaration Meta now requires for ads targeting certain countries.

    Meta may also require advertiser identity verification for these regions. That is configured in your Meta Business Manager, not through our API.

    The dashboard composer does not surface this field yet, so for now it's API-only.

    The declaration Meta wants for Singapore and Taiwan is expressible on the API today: send specialAdCategories (for example ["FINANCIAL_PRODUCTS_SERVICES"]) together with specialAdCategoryCountry: ["SG","TW"] on POST /v1/ads/create (or POST /v1/ads/boost), and we pass them to Meta as special_ad_categories and special_ad_category_country. Nothing in our targeting blocks SG or TW as countries, so the answer you got was about the dashboard, not the API.

    Two things are still missing. The ads composer in the dashboard does not surface those fields yet, and POST /v1/ads/campaigns takes the category but not the country (use /v1/ads/create for the pair). Any one-time advertiser verification Meta requires for that category is still done in Business Manager, since no API exposes it. We are leaving this open until the dashboard control ships.
