Instagram place search + Facebook location tags

We'd like to offer location tags on Instagram and Facebook, the way Buffer, Later, Metricool, Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Planoly all do. Their customers type a place and pick it from a list. Ours can't, which is a visible gap when people switch to us.

instagramSettings.locationId already works, but it needs a Facebook Page ID and there's no way to look one up. Customers will never find Page IDs themselves.

What would unlock it:

  1. A place search, like your TikTok one: GET /v1/accounts/{accountId}/instagram/locations?query=. It would return Page IDs that have location data, with name and address so people can tell similar results apart. Meta's Pages Search API (/pages/search with fields=location) can do this for an app approved for Page Public Metadata Access.

  2. A Facebook place field in facebookSettings, using the same search. Meta accepts place on Page feed and photo posts, and its Reels publishing guide shows it on Reels too.

Your /tiktok/locations endpoint is exactly the pattern we mean. We shipped TikTok location tags on it this week.
